What we are aiming for? A comfortable, green and sustainable journey between Oslo and Europe.

Travel by night train is growing. Many countries in Europe focus on seamlessly international train connections and reliable, comfortable night trains. 

 

Between Oslo and Copenhagen/Hamburg however, it is demanding to travel climate friendly. The journey has several changes with long connections and booking is complicated. 
There are no night trains.

Northern Nights will change this.

 

Around 75 % of the climate emissions from the travel industry come from transport to and from travel destinations. Emissions from train travel are 10-30 times lower than from air travel. There is an increasing proportion of climate-conscious tourists - both in Norway and the rest of Europe. Currently they have no seamless travel options to and from Norway.

 

There is a growing interest in Norway as a travel destination, and a night train service between Oslo and Copenhagen/Hamburg/Berlin will be able to attract travelers from abroad to Norway, and Norwegians who want to experience Europe without having to fly

You can travel by night train eight times between Oslo and Hamburg to equal the carbon footprint of one flight on the same route.

That´s why Northern Nights wants to create seamless, green and user-friendly night trains between Norway and Europe.
